Novalit F is a mineral topcoat based on specially modified potassium water glass, designed for painting coatings on the outside of buildings. Especially recommended for primary and renovation painting of mineral substrates (e.g. traditional lime plasters, lime-cement and cement plasters and thin-film mineral, silicate/silicate, polysilisate plasters), and for the renovation painting of substrates coated with coatings, expeditions based on plastics, when a mineral coating is required. Polysilisate paint has a significantly reduced alkaliity (at the level of acrylic products), thanks to which the influence of atmospheric factors on the quality of the paint coating created has been significantly reduced. Absorbent mineral substrates require primement with NOVALIT GF before applying paint.

The most important features of NOVALIT F are:

  • Mineral character
  • Low-alkaline reagent (pH 8÷9.5)
  • Resistance to adverse weather ingress
  • Increased resistance to changes in weather conditions during application and bonding
  • Protected against algal and fungal lichen
  • Increased resistance to dirt
  • Microporive structure for high vapor permeability
  • Low surface lysis
  • For use on both mineral and coated substrates, plastic-based expedition

Application of novalit f silicone paint:

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: The substrate must be load-bearing (without cracks and cracks), skimmed, clean and dry and free from stains and eruptions of biological and chemical origin. In case of algal and/or fungal lichen, the substrate should be cleaned mechanically and then washed off with water and de-ed with ALGIZID. Any loose, non-substrate layers (e.g. uncoated plasters or exfoliated coatings) must be removed. Wash and de-de-de-stain old and/or soiled substrates with cleanforce. In a situation where the unevenness of the substrate is significant, the wall should be pre-leveled with compensatory mortar, and then the entire surface should be leveled and smoothed with putty KOMBI FINISH. In case of small bumps, you can immediately use the filler mortar KOMBI FINISH. Absorbent substrates should be primed with a suitable preparation before applying filler and/or compensatory mortars. When applying paint to newly made mineral substrates (e.g. concrete, lime plaster, limestone-cement and cement plaster), keep mine. 2-week seasoning period.

PRIMING: Mineral substrates should be primed with NOVALIT GF before applying paint. The seasoning period applied on the substrate of the preparation before applying the paint is about 12 hours. Note: Low wetting substrates (e.g. plastic-based plastering expeditions or dispersion coatings) do not prime, but only wash off with cleanforce water.

PAINT PREPARATION: The packaging contains a product ready for use. If necessary, the paint can be diluted with a small amount of water (adding to the first painting max. 10% by volume, to the second max. 5% water). In determining the amount of water, account shall be taken of the type of substrate, the drying conditions and the application technique.

APPLICATION: Apply the paint to the substrate in two layers with a brush, roller or spray (including the "airless" method). Apply the second layer of paint only after the first layer has completely dried, that is, after min. 24 hours. Use mechanical spray only in windless weather. It is recommended to use a special paint roller for elevator paints made of polyamide woven by a long bristles min. 18 mm.

DRYING: Binding time applied to the substrate of one layer of paint (at +20°C and with relative air humidity of 55%) approximately 3 hours. Complete binding (hardening) of the made paint coating is followed by min. after 24 hours. Note: Low temperature and high humidity prolong the drying period of the paint. Protect the newly made paint coating from precipitation and moisture condensation until it is completely bonded.

EXECUTIVE GUIDELINES: In order to avoid color differences, it is necessary to make a surface constituting a separate architectural whole in one working cycle with material from the same production batch. When applying and drying paint, rainless weather should prevail with air temperatures from +5°C to +25°C. Immediately after the work, the tool should be washed with water. Work should not be carried out on directly sunny surfaces, in strong winds and in high humidity. In order to protect the completely unsused coating from the harmful effects of weather ingress, it is recommended to use suitable protective nets on scaffolds.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: In order to increase the resistance of the coating to algal and fungal lichen (especially in the renovation of warming systems and when painting the façade in shaded areas, with increased humidity and high concentration of plants), it is possible to apply a special protective preparation to the paint (additional service). When using paint on substrates covered with scratches up to 0.3 mm wide (e.g. with small systolic features of a plastering expedition), it is recommended to use NOVALIT PLAN microfibre-reinforced paint for the first painting.
